Big Papi David Ortiz Cigars
David Ortiz Cigars
20 seasons, 10-time All-Star, 3-time World Series champion, 2022 Hall of Fame induction There is just one name that springs to mind. David Ortiz, A Boston Red Sox icon and a great inspiration to his own Dominican Republic. After retiring, Mr. Ortiz wanted to go into the cigar business, so he teamed up with Tabacalera El Artista, the founders of the Exactus brand. When it was first released in 2013, it was solely for his personal use, special events, and charity events. However, due to the overwhelming appreciation for this smoke, they chose to release it to customers just three years later, in 2016.
Let's get started with the cigars, which come in two variations. The original "Big Papi" is wrapped in a gorgeous Ecuador Habano Claro wrapper, while the fillers are a superb blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, all kept together by a Dominican Criollo '98 binder. Medium to full-bodied and flavorful, with tastes of cream, pepper, almonds, leather, and natural sweetness.
Then there's the "Slugger," which features a spicy Mexican San Andres wrapper as well as the same filler and binder as the original "Big Papi," resulting in a more robust taste profile with a stronger spice punch compared to the original but still a fantastic smoke. Definitely full-bodied, with taste nuances comparable to the standard "Big Papi."
The “Big Papi” line only comes as a 6" x54 Toro!
The “Slugger” comes in two sizes a 6”x70 XL and a 5”x50!
The “Firecracker” is a limited edition run of only 1,000 boxes!
